Slow down and explore the expressive, forgiving nature of charcoal drawing in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop taught by a guest instructor. Charcoal is an intuitive medium that makes it easy to focus on observation, movement, and mark-making—without the pressure of perfection.
This class is designed for anyone curious about drawing, whether you’re picking up art supplies for the first time or returning to creative practice after a break.
In this session, you’ll:
- Learn how to hold and control charcoal for confident, expressive lines
- Practice basic shading and blending techniques
- Explore light, shadow, and texture in a low-pressure environment
- Complete a finished charcoal drawing to take home
No prior drawing experience is required. This workshop is welcoming, calm, and focused on building confidence through exploration rather than precision.

Is there an age limit for workshops?
We ask that children 12 and under be accompanied by an adult for all workshops. Older children are welcome to attend without an adult. Wine will only be served for individuals 21 or older.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is fairly generous. Please contact us as soon as possible if you know you cannot make a scheduled workshop or event so we can refund or reschedule you. Private events have different criteria. Please review the cancellation policy page for more details.
